Lawyer Referral Service
The New Haven County Bar Association is proud to sponsor the Lawyer Referral Service, a not-for-profit program that provides clients with unbiased referrals to an attorney who has experience in the area of law appropriate to the client's needs. Currently the Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) receives thousands of calls per year asking for assistance, and our referral specialists make referrals to hundreds of clients in most areas of law, including Wills, Estates and Probate, Family, Landlord/Tenant, Employment, Bankruptcy, Real Estate, and Contracts.
60 years strong, the LRS welcomes any attorney interested in building their practice. Attorneys are needed in all areas of law as well as in all geographic areas that the New Haven County LRS serves.
To join, attorneys must:

Ask A Lawyer Clinics
Many members of the community don't know where to turn when they find themselves in need of legal advice. A few times a month at local libraries and institutions, attorneys come together with the public to provide free fifteen-minute consultations on a wide variety of legal matters. If the client needs further assistance, the attorney has the option to retain the client himself or refer the client back to our Lawyer Referral Service.
This program is a great way to get involved with your community and potentially add to your client base. Take a look at our 2017 schedule, and if you'd like to volunteer a couple of hours of your time, contact Anne Herlihy.
